If your child struggles with focus, restlessness, or big emotions, it can be hard to know where to start.

The ADHD Insights Intake Session helps parents explore concerns, understand their child’s attention, energy, and learning behaviours, and plan next steps.

Through discussion and psychoeducation, clinicians help families make sense of observed patterns and decide whether a full assessment may be helpful.

You’ll leave with clear guidance and practical strategies to support your child’s confidence, focus, and sense of being understood.

Choose online or in-clinic. This first session focuses on understanding your child’s background and current concerns.

A supportive consultation where parents share concerns, and the clinician provides psychoeducation while gathering relevant history.

The clinician explains whether further assessment is needed, outlining core (required) and optional components, including pacing and budget considerations.

Families receive a personalised roadmap for possible next steps. Formal testing and school observation are discussed but not included in this session.

All therapists at Psychology Blossom hold postgraduate qualifications and are supervised by senior psychologists to ensure the highest standards of care.

If you are unsure who to begin with, our team can suggest several therapists who best fit your goals and preferences.

✅ A clear understanding of your child’s attention, learning, and behavior profile.
✅ Professional insights into how ADHD may affect daily routines and focus.
✅ Practical strategies to support your child’s success at home and in school.
✅ A detailed written report summarizing findings and next steps.
✅ Renewed confidence in helping your child thrive with clarity, compassion, and structure

These insights also help determine whether your child may benefit from continuing with therapy, beginning with a Therapy Intake Session to plan goals and next steps.

Is one assessment enough to understand my child’s needs?

Yes. A full ADHD assessment provides a clear understanding of your child’s focus, learning, and behavior patterns. Follow-up sessions may be recommended for deeper guidance or progress reviews. Some families start with an intake session first before doing the full diagnostic assessment.

How do I know if my child needs an ADHD assessment?

If your child struggles to concentrate, stay organized, manage emotions, or complete tasks despite effort and support, an assessment can help identify why and what to do next. If unsure, an intake session can help determine whether an assessment or therapy is the best next step.

Is the assessment confidential?

Yes. All information, test results, and reports are handled with strict confidentiality and shared only with you unless you choose to involve your child’s school or other professionals.

Will the assessment label my child?

No. The goal is understanding, not labeling. The assessment helps identify how your child learns and behaves, providing practical strategies for support rather than judgment.

Can I be present during the sessions?

Parents are involved in the intake and feedback sessions. Testing is typically done one-on-one with the clinician to ensure accuracy and comfort for your child.
